On Friday, November 15, the Town of New Lebanon closed on the purchase of 523 US Route 20, the home of the Town’s community center and free store. A huge thank you to the LVPA for allowing the Town to run a PILOT community center for the past year, free of charge and for agreeing to sell the building to the Town for under the appraised value!
Our fabulous community center coordinator Alissa Ross has some wonderful events coming up and we hope to see you there!
Tomorrow from 10am – 2pm the Town Climate Smart Task Force will be holding a repair cafe at the community center to bring your broken items to be fixed for free by your skilled neighbors.
Tomorrow from 5:30 – 8 the NL Class of 2030 is hosting a board game night as a fundraiser for the hurricane victims. There is a suggested donation of $5 and there will be a bake sale and raffle!
On Friday, December 6 we will be hosting a tree lighting ceremony with our elementary school choir singing carols. After the tree lighting we will head inside for hot chocolate, cookie decorating and a visit from Santa! All free of charge.
The community center and free store are open for regular hours on:
Tuesdays – 2 – 5:30
Wednesdays – 12 – 5:30
Thursdays – 2 – 5:30
Saturdays – 5 – 8
Sundays – 11 – 2
Children 12 and up can be at the community center unsupervised and the NLCSD will even bus your child there after school (you just need to sign a permission slip at the high school office). Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Come check out all the wonderful things we have to offer! We hope to see you soon!
