TOWN OF NEW LEBANON

BOARD & COMMISSION VACANCIES

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the New Lebanon Town Board is seeking persons interested in serving in the following positions for terms as noted:

 

Ethics Board Member (5 year term – expires 12/31/2024): Applicants must be residents of the Town of New Lebanon. Upon the written request of any Town Officer or employee, the Board of Ethics may render a written advisory opinion with respect to the interpretation or application of the Town of New Lebanon’s Code of Ethics or of Article 18 of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York.  The Board of Ethics has the power and duty to conduct any investigation necessary to carry out the provisions of the Town of New Lebanon’s Code of Ethics.

 

Recreation Commission Member (2 positions available – 7 year term each – expires 12/31/2024 & 12/31/2020): Recreation Commission members must be residents of the Town of New Lebanon. The Recreation Commission is vested with the authority to establish, equip, operate, and maintain playground and community programs and facilities.

 

Business and Economic Development Committee: The town is looking to start a Business and Economic Development Committee to support local business development and success.  The committee will meet monthly with meeting dates to be determined.  We are looking for local business owners and/or residents to serve on this committee.

 

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that unless otherwise specified, all applicants must be residents of the Town of New Lebanon. Persons interested in serving in any of these positions are to submit a letter of interest to the New Lebanon Town Clerk. Letters may be submitted via mail to P.O. Box 328, New Lebanon, NY 12125; delivered to the Town Hall at 14755 Route 22; or emailed to townclerk@townofnewlebanon.com.  Letters must be received in the Office of the Town Clerk by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020.  If multiple letters of interest are received for any of the open positions, interviews will be held at the town hall on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 6:00pm.
