From the Farmers Market on these exciting new programs:

We need your support in fundraising and your help spreading this exciting news!

The NLFM believes everyone in our community should have access to fresh, nutritious foods. This season, the NLFM is introducing two dollar-for-dollar money matching programs! One is community funded, and applies to all WIC, Senior Coupons, FMNP, and Fresh Connect purchases. This double value program can be used toward vegetables, fruits, honey, meat, eggs, dairy, bread, jams, maple syrup, and more, depending on what the benefit program is intended to cover. The second is a grant funded program, from the Berkshire Taconic Community Fund, that doubles SNAP benefits and can be used toward fresh fruits and vegetables. In other words…if you want to spend $20, with your SNAP card, the market gives you an additional $20, for a total of $40 to spend on local, fresh foods! Double your money! The double value programs will help improve access to healthy food and increase nutrition for low-income families. Please spread the word and share this information. We are accepting donations for the community funded double value program now, so if you’d like to support small local farms and businesses, and help get healthy fresh foods to our under served friends and neighbors, please mail a check to New Lebanon Farmers Market, p.o. box 666, New Lebanon, NY, 12125 or email us at Credit cards can be used to donate as well. We hope you will support this important program that will make our community more sustainable, with a healthier and happier future for all!

The New Lebanon Farmers Market is a grassroots effort, working to solve the town’s “food desert” issue. This will be its 9th season promoting and incubating small farms and businesses. The market provides free live entertainment and educational opportunities to the public. It is a marketplace for local artisans and farmers striving to build a stronger, local economy and healthier community.

The market has helped the success of other local businesses who have participated over the years, such as New Leaf Farm, Raven and Boar, Trusted Roots Farm, Climbing Tree Farm, Cedar Ridge Farm, Cricket Creek Farm, Rolling Rock Farm, the Beer Diviner, Mountain Girl Farm, Liquid Assets, and more.

The New Lebanon Farmers Market aims to increase accessibility, collaboration, and customer base. The market works together with other community groups such as the local churches, schools, the library, Celebrate Stephentown, and Grow the Valley to raise awareness and participation. SNAP, WIC, Senior Coupons, FMNP, Fresh Connect, and credit cards are all gladly accepted at the market.

The market is seeking additional vendors this season! We would love to add the following, to our unique group of vendors: local handmade soap/natural grooming products, brewers, cider makers, wine makers, cheese makers, hot prepared food/food trucks, and we are open to more!!! If you’d like to join, please email us for an application.

The market music schedule is all booked, for the season, with wonderful local musicians! Come enjoy free music every Sunday June to October! We have some of our classic market favorites in store like, Linda Worster and Abby Lappen, along with some new musicians that we can’t wait to hear! Join us!

The market is located in the center of downtown New Lebanon, at 516 State Rt 20/Columbia Turnpike, in the old OTB parking lot, across the street from the NL Fire House and Blueberry Hill Market & Cafe.
